Harvest Hays is a social enterprise of the Arc of Central Plains, operating as a small nonprofit farm that mainly cultivates crops in high tunnels. It provides a platform to teach vocational and life skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), helping them gain valuable experience and independence. Our farm practices sustainable agriculture by growing crops in high tunnels. We implement crop rotation to maintain soil health and fertility, reducing pest and disease buildup. Additionally, we practice cover cropping to protect and enrich the soil during off-seasons. We also use drip irrigation to conserve water and ensure efficient watering.
