The Kansas City
Food Circle is a volunteer
alliance of consumers and producers that works to strengthen ties between
local producers and consumers. It publishes a directory of local food
producers, runs annual farmer exhibitions, and recently set up a
bulletin board for direct producer-to-consumer networking.
The state-funded
Food Circles Networking Project of the University of Missouri
has a major goal of strengthening local food systems in Missouri, and has
worked in the Kansas City area to establish farmers markets, and strengthen
linkages between restaurants and growers, among other things.

Kansas Rural Center (KRC)
is active in efforts to strengthen local food systems and to serve farmers in Kansas.
