Pendleton’s Country Market is a diversified family farm, growing vegetables, bedding plants, cut flowers in Lawrence, KS. We offer Pick-Your-Own vegetables in season and have an open-air seasonal farm market.

This year, we are starting our 40th year of growing asparagus.  We are redirecting some of our energies to decision making on the future of our operation.  Our farm was hit by a tornado last May, and we lost most of our infrastructure, including a machine shop, several storage sheds, the use of our home, a 40 x 100’ covered deck that was the center of our agritourism activities, and 5 of our 7 greenhouses.  We were able to stay open last year while rebuilding and cleaning up.  We provided flowers for 20 weddings, provided weekly bags to our 150 person CSA, and never missed a farmers market all summer.  We’re estimating the clean up will take about 5 years, and we hope to make the farm more attractive for others to take over the operations, with whatever they would like to do.

Currently, paid positions are available in addition to volunteers. Apprentices can start as early as April or May and continue through the summer.
